The Influencer Collab

Sustainable brand Aligne has joined forces with influencer Brittany Bathgate to launch a capsule collection of autumn/winter staples, all made from organic cotton, recycled polyester and denim that uses 50% less water in the production process. Known for her minimalistic sense of style, Brittany’s less-is-more approach is more than apparent in the edit: “The pieces are a mixture of relaxed and formal tailoring and, typical of my style, the palette is subdued and neutral,” she says. The standout piece is undeniably the Ellen coat – perfect for layering this season.

The Eco Denim Range

Later this month, Frame will introduce biodegradable denim to its range, as part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainable practices. There are three different styles in three innovative fabrics: the Rigid 727, Comfort Stretch 785 and Super Stretch 778. While the rigid fabric’s 100% cotton is 100% biodegradable, the comfort stretch and super stretch fabrics use ROICA V550, a material that breaks down faster than conventional yarn without leaving behind any harmful substances. Prices start at £225 and pieces are available to buy in store and online.

The Knitwear Label

From the materials to the production process, slow fashion principles are at the heart of Romanian brand Ami Amalia. The label creates knitwear in small quantities, offering a refreshing alternative to the mass production that puts such a strain on the environment. “We believe most people would think twice about buying cheap clothes if we knew what made the price possible. Ami Amalia is a business built on transparency with regards to its ethical use of resources,”  a spokesperson for the brand explains.
